Louvre Boat Goes Sailing With Dolphins
The long-term value of community sponsorship was highlighted last weekend when a boat Louvre Group purchased for the Guernsey Sailing Trust five years ago helped to give two lucky girls an experience of a lifetime.
Tabby Dorey and Bella Duquemin, two young sailors on a Sailing Trust course, were joined by a pod of dolphins, making it a sailing session to remember.
The pair were surprised and delighted that the dolphins came so close and the girls could have reached out to touch them.
Louvre Group purchased the boat for the Guernsey Sailing Trust over five years ago to replace a dinghy that Louvre had previously sponsored.
‘We were delighted to see this picture. It’s exactly why we like to support activities like sailing, swimming and football, sport has a very positive impact on our community and corporate sponsorship brings these experiences to the widest possible audience,’ says Derek Baudains, CEO of Louvre Group.
The Louvre Autumn Sailing Series is now in its 12th year and will start on 10th September. ‘I am sure sailors of all ages will be looking out for the dolphins and we’re so pleased Tabby and Bella spotted them, I am sure it’s an experience they will never forget.’
